The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Nkem Okeke, has dumped the ruling party in the state, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the All Progressives Congress (APC), few weeks before the November 6 governorship election in Anambra state.
Mr. Okeke was led to the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday by the APC Caretaker Committee Chairman and Yobe State Governor, Mala Buni, and the Imo State Governor, Chairman of the APC campaign council for the Anambra election, Hope Uzodinma where he was received by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Since former senator Andy Uba, became Anambra’s governorship candidate, the APC gained some grounds. Six state lawmakers defected from APGA to the APC. A senator from the state, Stella Oduah, also defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
