The Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State has been endorsed for re-election as substantive executive of the party.
Hon. Chinedu Ogah, representative of Ikwo and Ezza South federal constituency at the House of Representatives gave the nod while he passed a vote of confidence on the leadership capacity of the committee headed by Stanley Okoro-Emegha.
The representative, while talking about the result of APC’s Local Government congress which took place in the State during the weekend, explained that excellence is naturally rewarded with applause and more trust.
Ogah also described the state’s APC local government congress as the most peaceful congress in Nigeria and lauded Governor David Umahi for the result.
“It is the most peaceful one in the whole country because we have a leader that knows the cry of his people, the Governor of Ebonyi State Chief Engr. David Umahi, knows how to handle and provide solutions to Ebonyi State people in politics. He has done well to make things work well for Ebonyians,” he stated.
The lawmaker noted, “I did not boycott my APC congress meeting at the eve of our congress. I was in stakeholders meeting in Enugu State and Governor Umahi knows that I have an assignment and I left for that assignment and I came. How can I boycott that it. Those people saying it are not our party members. I am a party man and I am part and parcel of what is going on and I am also in support of all the decisions of our able Governor.
“Surely we are going to meet because he will always call for stakeholders meeting where we will brainstorm and discuss on it. What we have agreed is that the Caretaker Committee has done well, that we need to re-elect them to continue the good job they doing.”
