Arsenal confirmed the signing of Japan defender Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna in deal worth £19.8 million on Tuesday.
Premier league side signs Tomiyasu in four years deal with option of further season’s extension.
The 22-years-old defender is utility player who play both centre back and right back,providing mikel arteta with more options at defense line following bellerin’s loan move to real betis.
Tomiyasu has 63 appearances for Serie A side Bologna over last two seasons.
Arteta who confirmed Tomiyasu as strong defender with good experience in Serie A, also described the Japanese as versatile defender who has great defensive qualities, and high technical ability.
He added that he will be an important player in his squad as he longing to start working with him after international break.
Arsenal is in 20 on premier league table after losing their first three games, conceding nine times.
Tomiyasu starts his football career with Japanese club Avispa Fukuoka before joining Belgium side Sint-truisen, then on to Bologna in 2019.
