Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has approved the reappointment of Ibrahim Kashim, as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) with immediate effect.
According to the statement issued on Thursday by Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the governor, the reappointment of Mr Kashim was informed by his track record of sincerity, commitment and experience in the discharge of responsibilities.
Kashim, who resigned earlier this year to run for governor of the state under the PDP, offered to step aside for the incumbent governor in an inside caucus meeting conducted by stakeholders to plan the way forward, TOS NEWS reported.
“In Nigerian politics, integrity is a word thrown around loosely, while actualisation of its value is few and far between. Integrity is to do the right thing at the right time, every single time, and this is a value that Ibrahim Kashim embodies,” Kashim tweeted Wednesday morning.
The PDP has subsequently fixed June 4 for a fresh governorship primary election with Mohammed as the sole aspirant.
