Journalist and founder of the #RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore has reportedly been shot at the Unity Fountain, Abuja, while engaging in a peaceful protest.
The political activist who made this known via a tweet on his verified twitter account stated that he was shot by one “ACP Atine,” whom it was gathered fired a teargas cannister at Mr Sowore who showed up at the Unity Fountain to join the protest.
Sowore who sustained injuries from the incident, has however been rushed to a hospital for treatment.
According to Popular lawyer and activist, Inibehe Effiong, who also confirmed the development on Twitter, he tweeted that;
“@YeleSowore has just been shot by a female police officer at the Unity Fountain in Abuja.
The criminal officer is said to be an ACP. I watched Sowore being shot live on Facebook.
This is what Nigeria has been turned into under Buhari. They’ve declared war on the Civic Space.”
