Buhari presides over FEC meeting in 7 weeks

President Muhammadu Buhari has presided over the federal executive council meeting for the first time in seven weeks.

Buhari returned to the country on Friday after 50 days in London for medical vacation.

Clad in white babanriga and a matching cap, the President arrived the ‎council chambers of the presidential villa, Abuja, at exactly 10.03am.

After nominating minister of transportation, Rotimi Ameachi, to offer the Christian prayer, Buhari said, “I have not seen Lai”, and the minister of information replied, saying, “I am here, sir”.

This elicited laughter from other members of council.

The President then asked him to offer the Muslim prayer.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo presided over the weekly meeting in Buhari’s absence.
