President Muhammadu Buhari, received eight outgoing members of the Federal Executive Council at State House in Abuja.
This was made known in a statement issued by President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adeshina, on Friday.
The outing member of FEC include Ministers of Petroleum, Timpre Sylva; Labour & Employment, Chris Ngige; Minister of State Mines & Steel, Uche Ogah; Minister of Justic,e Abubakar Malami; Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Minister of Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio; Minister of Science Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu; Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen; Minister of State Niger Delta, Tayo Alasoadura are nursing elective poritions in the forthcoming general election.
President Buhari had directed all members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) running for elective offices to submit their resignation letters on or before Monday the 16th of May, 2022.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, disclosed to State House Correspondents shortly after the President held a valedictory meeting with the concerned ministers at the Presidential Villa, Abuja that they will be replaced.
According to Mohammed, Buhari said he would immediately fill the vacancies created by the exodus.
He thanked the outgoing ministers for complying with the directive to quit based on their decision to seek elective political offices.
