A former Nigerian Ambassador to Malaysia, Yerima Abdullahi, has said President Muhammadu Buhari had no desire to stay in office beyond 2023.
Abdullahi, while speaking to newsmen on Wednesday said Buhari who has been doing “a thankless job” as Nigerian leader would respect the constitution.
He further said “The people should be more realistic and stop diverting the attention of the president, hoping that he will concentrate on mainly responding to such.
“I’m glad he is not losing concentration. Buhari has got two years to go. He has said he is not going to ask for a third term. No, I won’t ask him to seek an additional term.”
“However, whether I ask him he will not, I know him enough to know he will not want it. What is he gaining?”
