Nigerian artistes, Femi Kuti, Burna Boy, Davido and Tiwa Savage have been announced as part of the lineups of performers for the upcoming Global Citizen Live Concert organized by the international education and advocacy organisation, Global Citizen.
The organisation announced this year’s live concert roster Tuesday on Instagram.
They wrote: “#GlobalCitizenLive, featuring @teddysphotos, @lorde, @theweeknd, @bts.bighitofficial & more, is on Sept. 25! Live across 6 continents, this 24-hour, once-in-a-generation broadcast + livestream event will bring the world together to defend the planet & defeat poverty.”
According to the post, the concert which will take place on the 25th of September, will have performances and live events in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North and South America.
The show will be held in cities like Lagos, Rio de Janeiro, New York City, Paris, London, Seoul, Los Angeles, and Sydney.
It will also air on ABC, ABC News Live, BBC, FX, iHeartRadio, Hulu, YouTube, Twitter, and more.
The 24-hour live broadcast event will feature artists, activists, and world leaders taking the stage at iconic locations worldwide.
Other artistes performing include: Adam Lambert, Alessia Cara, Andrea Bocelli, Angélique Kidjo, Billie Eilish, Coldplay, Doja Cat, Ed Sheeran, The Lumineers, The Weeknd, Usher and so many others.
The theme chosen for this year’s concert is “Defend the planet, defeat poverty” and the artists will be performing for a cause, which is to save the planet.
Global Citizen Live concert will be supported by many of the world’s leading corporations such as Accenture, Cisco, Citi, The Coca-Cola Company, Delta Air Lines, Google, Live Nation, P&G, Verizon, etc.
