Chad junta leader Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno has moved up to a higher rank in the military, from a lieutenant general to a general with five stars.
He previously had four stars, as a lieutenant general.
The junta leader came to power in April after the death of his father, Idriss Déby Itno.
A press release by the presidency’s head of protocol on Thursday informed state institutions and the public of the new changes.
