
President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, wrote the Senate to confirm the appointment of the acting Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, as the substantive CJN.
This was contained in a letter from the President read by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, at plenary.
Buhari said his letter was according to Section One (1) of the Constitution of Nigeria.
Ariwoola, a former justice of the Supreme Court took over from Tanko Muhammad who resigned last month as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria.
