
The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC in an update on its Facebook page on Thursday confirmed the country recorded 1 new covid-19 related death with 75 fresh cases on Wednesday in 8 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
With the new fatality registered on Wednesday, the NCDC said the country’s fatality toll from the disease now stands at 3,134.
According to the health agency, the latest figure of confirmed cases have increased Nigeria’s infection toll to 252,753.
The NCDC also disclosed that there are 22,298 active cases.
The data by the NCDC revealed that a total of 228,137 people have been discharged nationwide after their recovery from the virus.
According to the breakdown of the NCDC data, Lagos State, the epicentre of the disease, registered 33 new cases, followed by Gombe State with 13 cases.
The FCT also reported 11 cases, followed by Osun with eight cases, while Edo and Rivers States reported three cases each.
While Plateau State reported two cases, Kaduna and Kano States reported a single case each.
