According to the latest data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday morning, Nigeria recorded 167 new cases and 2 Covid-19 related deaths on Friday.
With the 2 new fatalities recorded on Friday, Nigeria’s death toll from the virus now stands at 2,769.
The NCDC also showed that the total infection from the pandemic currently stands at 208,797, while a total of 196,425 Nigerians have been discharged nationwide.
The breakdown of recorded cases showed that Rivers State topped the chat with 68 cases, followed by the FCT with 43 cases, while Lagos State, the epicentre of the disease, registered 24 cases.
Plateau and Niger states recorded 10 and eight cases respectively.
Also, Edo and Kano States recorded five and four cases respectively.
Benue and Oyo States recorded two cases each, while Delta took the last position on the log with a single case.
The agency noted that six states: Benue, Gombe, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, and Sokoto did not report any case on Friday.
