According to figures released on Thursday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Nigeria recorded 251 fresh COVID-19 cases with 5 deaths across 13 states and the Federal Capital Territory on Wednesday.
A breakdown of the latest data shows the FCT recorded the highest number of new infections with 73 cases followed by Lagos with 46.
Kaduna state reported 27 new cases while Rivers recorded 21 cases. Imo 16, Edo 13, Delta 12, Plateau10, Niger 7, Bauchi 6, Kwara 6, Akwa Ibom 4, Benue 3 and Nasarawa 2.
With the 251 new COVID-19 cases, the total confirmed cases in Nigeria now stands at 208,404 while the five deaths reported raised the death toll from the virus to 2,761.
However, 196,123 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged , the agency said.
