The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control in an update posted on its Facebook page disclosed that the country registered 36 new cases of the coronavirus across 7 States and the Federal Capital Territory on Monday.
The NCDC data also showed that Nigeria did not report any fresh COVID-19 related death.
The breakdown of the data showed that Lagos recorded the highest number of new infections with 21 cases followed by Kano – 4, FCT – 3, Gombe – 3, Niger – 2, Bauchi, Plateau and Rivers recorded a single case each.
The NCDC added that the 36 new Covid-19 infections raised the number of confirmed cases to 213,625.
The death toll from the virus in the country stands at 2,974, NCDC said.
According to the health agency, 206,778 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged.
It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
