The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control in an update on its official website on Wednesday confirmed 7 states registered 52 new cases on Tuesday.
The health agency did not report any new COVID-19 death in its latest update.
The breakdown of the update showed that Rivers recorded the highest number of new infections with 20 cases, followed by Lagos – 15, Plateau – 8, Jigawa – 6 while Delta, Gombe and Kaduna reported a single case each.
According to the NCDC, the 52 new infections raised the number of confirmed cases to 213,677, while the death toll from the virus remains 2,974.
However, 206,797 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged, the agency said.
