The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC in an update posted on its official website on Tuesday confirmed that Nigeria registered 52 new cases of Covid-19 on Monday across 8 States and the Federal Capital Territory.
With no new Covid-19 related death in its latest update, the death toll from the virus remains 2,906.
The breakdown of the newly registered cases showed that Cross River recorded the highest number of infections with 13 cases followed by Lagos with 12, Enugu – 8, Plateau -7, Rivers – 5, FCT – 3, Bauchi – 2, Abia – 1 and Kano – 1.
The NCDC added that the 52 new Covid-19 infections raised the number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 212,765.
The national public health institute said 204,261 Covid-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country.
It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
