The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Thursday in an update posted on its Facebook page confirmed that Nigeria registered 82 new cases of the coronavirus across 8 states.
The breakdown of the data by the NCDC showed that Rivers State topped the chart with 52 new cases, followed by Kano – 9, Kebbi – 6, Kaduna – 5, Plateau – 5, Enugu – 3, Bauchi – 1 and Lagos – 1.
According to the NCDC, the 82 new infections raised the number of confirmed covid-19 cases to 213,403, while the fatality toll remains 2,973 with no new deaths reported on Wednesday.
The centre added that 206,245 Covid-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country.
It said that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, continue to coordinate the national response activities.
