The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its latest covid-19 update published on its official website on Wednesday morning said Nigeria reported a backlog of 10 infections in two States.
This is as the health agency did not report any new case of the coronavirus infection for Tuesday March 1, 2022, making it the first time Nigeria will report no covid-19 case, since the first index case was reported in the country.
According to the NCDC, the country’s total infection toll from the virus since the first index case was reported February 28, 2020 has increased to 254,570 while the death toll remains at 3,142.
The breakdown of the newly reported covid-19 cases shows that Edo and Cross River states in the South-south reported backlog of cases. While Edo State recorded eight cases, Cross River State registered two infections with nine discharges for February 28, 2022.
