The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in an update on its Facebook page on Tuesday night confirmed 18 coronavirus related deaths raising the country’s fatality toll to 2,637.
According to the NCDC’S data, Nigeria also recorded 519 new cases of the disease raising the total infection figure to 200,057.
The Additional 519 new cases were recorded across 14 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The data also indicated that 8,701 people are still down with the disease and 188,719 have been discharged so far.
The agency also added that the new cases included a backlog of 110 cases and 5 deaths reported by Ondo State on September 13 and 14, 2021.
Lagos and Ondo topped the chart with 120 and 110 new cases respectively, followed by Rivers and Edo States with 74 and 64 cases, while the FCT reported 58 new cases.
Oyo State recorded 31 new cases; Kaduna, 15; Bayelsa 11, while Cross River and Delta States, both submitted 11 cases each.
Also, Kano recorded five cases; Ogun, four; Plateau, three; Adamawa, two, while Gombe recorded only one case.
