The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in an update posted on its Facebook page on Wednesday disclosed that Nigeria recorded 2,123 new cases of coronavirus and 4 deaths from the virus in 10 states and the Federal Capital Territory on Tuesday.
The breakdown of the data by the NCDC revealed that Lagos state reported the highest number of new infections with 1,552 confirmed cases, followed by the FCT – 197, Edo – 155, Rivers – 81, Delta – 44, Plateau – 33, Kwara – 30, Kano – 16, Enugu – 12, Gombe – 2 and Bauchi – 1.
The 2,123 new cases, according to the health agency, raised the number of confirmed cases to 227,378.
The agency said that the 4 new covid-19 related deaths raised the death toll from the virus to 2,989. It added that 211,761 patients have recovered and have been discharged.
