According to an update posted on its official Facebook page late Saturday night, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control disclosed that Nigeria registered 116 new cases of the coronavirus across six states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The NCDC also added that 3 Covid-19 related deaths were recorded.
The breakdown of newly registered cases by the agency showed that Imo State recorded the highest number of infections with 53 cases followed by Plateau – 30, FCT – 10, Kano – 9, Kaduna – 8, Lagos – 3, Rivers – 3
The NCDC noted that the 116 new infections brought the number of confirmed cases in the country to 212,627.
According to the NCDC update, 204,249 Covid-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country.
The 3 new Covid-19 related deaths raised the death toll from the virus to 2,905, the NCDC said.
It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
