According to the latest data on the official website of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Thursday, Nigeria registered 230 new cases of the coronavirus, with 1 fatality across 13 states and the Federal Capital Territory on Wednesday.
The data from the NCDC revealed that Lagos State which has remained the country’s epicenter of the disease reported the highest figures for new infections for the day with 115 cases.
The breakdown of the figures released by the health agency showed that Gombe state reported 29 cases of the virus, followed by FCT – 24, Imo – 20, Rivers -10, Ondo – 9, Kano – 5, Abia – 4, Kaduna – 4, Oyo – 4, Kebbi – 2, Ogun – 2, Borno – 1, Jigawa – 1.
According to the data, the 230 new infections have raised the total number of confirmed cases of the disease in Nigeria to 251,571 while 225,220 people have recovered and have been discharged.
Also,the covid-19 related death recorded has raised the death toll to 3,117.
