Tanzania’s President, Samia Suluhu Hassan and Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote met at State House, Dar es Salaam earlier in the week to discuss business development in the country.
During the meeting, Dangote expressed optimism on the positive change in Tanzania’s business sector and called on other businessmen to invest in the country due to the conducive environment.
Alhaji Aliko Dangote’s investments in Tanzania amounts to 1.761 trillion shillings ($770 million USD).
In the discussion with President Samia which centered on support for her in terms of continued investment in Tanzania for job creation and prosperity for the citizens, he said in addition to cement manufacturing that he has intentions to establish a fertilizer factory in the country.
Speaking further, he applauded the ‘investor friendly policies’ made by the President since she assumed office, noting that while the government had fulfilled its role in providing an enabling environment for investment, private sector has the responsibility of creating jobs that will eventually lead to the growth and development of the nation.
On her part, president Samia assured Dangote that investors would be more protected by the government.
