As part of its continued efforts to assist the vulnerable members of the society and further cushion the effects of the novel coronavirus which has dealt a great blow on the economy of the world, the embassy of the state of Israel in Nigeria in collaboration with some of its mission aides has made a donation of a good number of food items to widows and orphans of the Nigerian fallen heroes.
The charge’ De’ Affaires of the embassy of Israel in Nigeria, Mr. Yotam kreiman who lead his team to make the donations to The Defense and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA) said the exercise was not intended to downgrade members of DEPOWA, rather, it is their own way to support family members of the men who paid the ultimate price in protecting the integrity of the nation.
While speaking, the Rabi of the Jewish Community in Nigeria, Israel Uzan said the initiative is a way of connecting with their host community and to provide assistance where necessary.
Responding to the kind gesture by the Israeli Embassy, head of DEPOWA, Vickie Irabor, lauded the move by the embassy of Nigeria to put smile on faces of widows and orphans of the fallen heroes and assured them of making sure the right people get the items provided.
Speaking further, Mrs. Irabor said DEPOWA is ready to collaborate with the embassy of Israel in Nigeria and other key stakeholders in order to rein the hardship faced by its members.
