Music legend, Ebenezer Obey has started a new ministry which would focus mainly on creating awareness on the dangers of alcohol addiction.
The death of the music legend’s son pushed him into joining the war against alcohol and drug addiction with more focus on the youth in Nigeria and Abroad. The ministry is called “freedom from alcohol and drug addiction ministry (FADAM).”
The juju maestro noted that this is a separate ministry from the already known Evangelistic Ministry and Decross Gospel Mission.
This recent development was conveyed in a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 signed by Tunji Odunmbaku, the general manager in charge of Obey music group.
“FADAM would also be an avenue to help parents and families of children with alcohol and drug addiction to overcome the challenges and be better in future. The octogenarian musician stressed that the reason behind this launch became paramount to turning the pain of his lose into a solution for parents and families who have children battling with addiction,” according to the statement.
Obey who expressed sadness over the demise of his son Olayinka said that they did all they could to help him fight his weaknesses but it turned out negative. Obey, however, has assured the public that the incident, though painful will not affect all his pending engagements.
