The Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said it arrested 11 suspected Internet fraudsters in Ozuoba, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
This was disclosed in a statement by the EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, on Thursday.
According to Uwujaren, the operatives arrested the suspects in an early morning sting operation and recovered a Lexus SUV, laptops, television sets, among others during the raid.
The agency said, “They were arrested through surveillance and verified intelligence on their suspicious Internet-related criminal activities.
“Items recovered from them included one wine colored Lexus ES 350 car, six Plasma TV sets, three laptops, 10 mobile phones of different brands, one LG Home Theatre, one black and red speaker, one Hisense Speaker, one Hisense Sound Bar, five Automated Teller Machine cards of different banks and two Apple wristwatches.
“The suspects will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded.”
