One may wonder why those considers as political egg heads are now moving to the ruling all progressive party APC.
The recent is the defection of the former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, from the people’s Democratic party (PDP) to the ruling all progressive Congress (APC).
The former governor will formally be registering as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) this Thursday, at his Isote Polling Unit, in Sagamu LG.
Daniel was received into APC at his Asoludero residence, Sagamu, on Tuesday by five APC governors namely, Prince Dapo Abiodun (Ogun); Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo); Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi); Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano); and Abubakar Bello (Niger).
Governor Bello, who is Chairman of APC Revalidation and Registration Committee, presented a broom, the symbol of APC, to Otunba Daniel to formally welcome him into the party.
According to him, his decision to join the APC “was well-considered and thought out”. “ noting that there is no better time to join the APC than now. “because we have a working governor and needs support of all”, he added.
Meanwhile Prince Dapo Abiodun the incumbent Governor said Otunba Daniel decision to join the party “will add a lot of value to our party.”
The formal registration procedures of Otunba Daniel into APC is scheduled to hold 12 noon this Thursday at a ceremony to be supervised by the Chairman of Ogun APC Revalidation and Registration Committee, Hon. Ademorin Kuye.
Recall that Otunba Daniel was elected governor of Ogun State in April 2003, running on the PDP platform beating the incumbent with 217, 353 votes.
