Ex-Ondo dep gov, Olanusi, knows fate April 27

An Akure High Court will on April 27, determine whether or not the impeachment of former Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Alhaji Ali Olanusi, followed the due process of law.

Justice Williams Olamide fixed the date, which falls on the first anniversary of his impeachment after listening to the suit filed by Olanusi, through his lawyer, Chief Adeniyi Akintola, SAN, challenging his removal from office and the reply of the government filed by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, SAN.

Olanusi was on April 27, 2015 impeached by the state House of Assembly, having been found guilty of gross abuse of office by an investigative panel.

But Olanusi in the suit, AK/51/2015, which joined the Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, the House of Assembly, the Clerk of the House and one Mr. Olatunji Adeniyan, as defendants has been before an Akure High Court presided by Justice Olamide since last year.
