Paris St-Germain have signed Sergio Ramos on a two-year deal following the defender’s departure from Real Madrid.
Sergio Ramos, the former Real Madrid player considered one of the best defenders in the world, left Madrid after 16 years when his contract expired at the end of June.
He won the Champions League four times with Real and is a World Cup winner and a two-time champion of Europe with Spain. He has as well won 180 caps and scored 23 goals for his country.
PSG Sporting Director, Leonardo has also brought in Dutch midfield star Georginio Wijnaldum from Liverpool and Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi from Italian champions Inter Milan as the Parisians seek the right blend to conquer Europe and persuade France striker, Kylian Mbappe to sign a new deal beyond 2022.
Ramos said in a statement, “It’s a big change in my life; a new challenge and a day I shall never forget.”
Ramos left Sevilla before joining Real Madrid in 2005, played almost 500 games for Los Blancos, marshaling their defense for 16 seasons and won La Liga five times.
