American comedian and famous television host Ellen DeGeneres has revealed that she will end her long-running talk show ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ in 2022 after 19 years.
The Show, which has aired since September 2003, will come to an end after its 19th season in 2022.
“As great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore. I need something new to challenge me” as a creative she told the Hollywood Reporter in an interview.
She revealed that she was going to stop after season 16, but settled on three more years.
The announcement comes after a July 2020 controversy detailing allegations of a toxic workplace that DeGeneres says “destroyed” her.
The 63-year-old went on to say that last year’s was not the responsible factor in her decision to pull the plug.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show has won more than 60 Daytime Emmy awards.
