Prominent Nigerians on Thursday have stormed Police College, Ikeja, Lagos, for Yinka Odumakin’s lying-in-state ceremony.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; former governor of Ondo state, Olusegun Mimiko; former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi; former governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in Lagos, Jimi Agbaje; Afenifere leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo; human rights lawyer, Femi Falana(SAN); Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, Mohammed Fawehinmi and a host of others attended the ceremony.
TOS News reported that the renowned activist died on April 3.
Yinka Odumakin, was a Nigerian human rights activist and politician. Until his death, he was the national publicity secretary of Afenifere, a Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group.
On April 12, his wife, Joe Okei-Odumakin, said the body of her husband, Yinka Odumakin, will be laid to rest on Saturday, April 24. She added that the rites will span three days, starting from Thursday, April 22, Friday 23 and Saturday, April, 24.
