Fire erupted inside the Synagogue Church of All Nations headquarters in Lagos State as the funeral ceremony of TB Joshua, founder of the Church. According to a witness, the fire which happened on Monday night at about 11pm affected a building on the premises, some meters away from the church’s main auditorium.
The witness said the fire resulted from an electrical spark. The fire was largely controlled as crowd of worshippers used containers to get water from near the church. Officials of the Lagos State Fire Service arrived at about 12:15 a.m.
TB Joshua’s funeral ceremony which will last for a week, began on July 5 with a candlelight procession at the church’s prayer mountain in Ikotun, Lagos.
Other activities include a tribute service on July 6 and 7, lying-in-state on July 8, laying to rest and internment on July 9, and a thanksgiving service on July 11
The popular Nigerian pastor, televangelist, and philanthropist died on June 5, few days before his 58th birthday.
