John Yoriyo, a former deputy governor of Gombe State, alongside 14 other chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Saturday, joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Yoriyo and his supporters were welcomed into the party by Major-General Abnor Kwaskebe (rtd), the state PDP Chairman in Gombe State.
The former deputy governor while speaking at the occasion, stood against the running of the APC in the state, therefore, described PDP as the best political party.
“It is obvious that the APC has failed in Nigeria, especially in the area of security,” he said.
“I was in the APC and I have seen everything that is happening, nothing is encouraging. PDP is the best place to be.
“There was nothing like democracy under APC in Gombe. Nobody knows what is happening, we were ignorant, we are just being ruled,” he added.
Kwaskebe, receiving the defectors, stated that they have returned to their home.
“We are glad to receive those that left the party, thinking that the PDP had collapsed. They are now coming back home,” he said.
