
The Ogun state Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed on Wednesday morning that three people died while one person got injured in a fatal accident that occurred at Gofamint in Ogunmakin along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday night.
The Sector Commander, Ahmed Umar who confirmed the accident in Abeokuta said, “The incident occurred at 10:55 p.m. and it involved a mini truck (Van), marked YYY 457 YY, and a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number DUI 187 FST.”
The FRSC boss explained that the accident was caused by “excessive speed and route violation on the part of the truck driver which led to a head-on collision.”
He said, “A total of six persons were involved which comprises four male and two female adults.
“One person was injured while two women and the driver of the bus died in the accident.”
Umar noted that the injured victim was taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere, for medical attention, while the deceased were deposited at the FOS morgue, Ipara.
He therefore advised motorists to drive cautiously and always avoid route violations, especially at night.
