Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has dropped his senatorial ambition for the Kano North senatorial seat to appease his opponents, who is also the incumbent , Barau Jibrin in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Jibrin is one of the bigwigs challenging Ganduje’s leadership of the APC in the state.
TOS NEWS had reported how Ganduje endorsed his deputy, Dr Nasiru Gawuna, as the preferred choice of the All Progressives Congress for the 2023 governorship election while he declares senatorial ambition.
The party’s Secretary in the state, Zakari Sarina, who confirmed the development, said there has been substantial understanding across the board in the party.
“Yes there were tangible understandings between the duo and soon everybody will know this position,” he said.
Kano APC has recently experienced a gale of defection.
