Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State amidst paying local government workers of the state modulated salaries and owing some state’s workers for months, on Tuesday, presented brand new SUVs to 25 first-class traditional rulers in the state.
Giving the vehicles to the royal fathers at the Government House in Lafia, the governor disclosed that the vehicles are to ease the discharge of their responsibilities, “considering the vital role the royal fathers are playing in the maintainance and sustenance of security in the state.”
TOS News gathered the cars are valued at over N800 million if purchased directly from the manufacturer.
The government till now has refused to speak on how much was spent to buy the vehicles and the source of the fund.
Nasarawa state was among the states that owed salaries in 2017 despite bailout funds from the Federal Government.
