Gunmen on Sunday night set ablaze the Local Government Secretariat in Ogidi, Idemili North area and a Magistrates’ court.
The incident was confirmed by the state police command’s spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga.
Ikenga who attributed the incident to unidentified arsonists said, “Yes, the incident was confirmed, and our men were there to restore normalcy.
“Right now, the fire has been put off, and calm has been restored to the area.”
According to sources, the suspected gunmen burnt down files, vehicles and other properties in the secretariat, including the building.
Also, the videos and pictures of the incident circulating online showed the burnt buildings that have been reduced to debris.
Anambra state, located in the southeastern region of the country is one of the states experiencing incessant attacks from gunmen.
