Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has demanded from the Federal High Court in Abuja, the release of his aides detained by the Department of State Services during the raid at his house in the Soka area of Ibadan on Thursday, July 1.
Yomi Aliyu (SAN), his counsel said on Thursday that he had filed an action before a Federal High Court in Abuja for the release of the 13 people arrested.
Although the lawyer did not give details of the suit, he said spokesman for Igboho, Olayomi Koiki, had issued a statement on Wednesday that the DSS barred lawyers from seeing Igboho’s aides in its custody.
Aliyu said, “We have filed an action before a Federal High Court in Abuja concerning their bail. We filed it today.”
The DSS raided the residence of Igboho around 1:30am on July 1 and admitted to killing two of his aides and arresting 13 persons, adding that its men recovered arms and ammunition in Igboho’s house. Igboho, has since denied the claims saying that the weapons found in his house were planted by the DSS.
