Things went South really fast a few hours ago in Kwara when the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, was attacked at an eid kabir prayer ground.
The mob, made up of government workers protesting their non payment of salaries, threw missiles and various objects at Saraki and other dignitaries in attendance.
According to Premium Times, the protesters couldn’t afford rams too mark the Sallah celebrations.
A witness was quoted to have said: “Shortly after the senate president and other dignitaries arrived, some people started throwing stones and sachet waters in the direction of the Senate President and other important people.”
“They started chanting Ole Ole Ole (thief), “Pay us our salaries”, “Where is our bailout money” and “Don’t use bailout money to service Abuja politics.”
