Israel Embassy, Skill G Nig. Ltd Donate E- Learning Centre to School in Port-Harcourt
The Embassy of the State of Israel in partnership with Skill G Nig. Ltd in a bid to support the Nigerian education system and empower average Nigerian youths, on Thursday made a donation of an e-learning centre to the Yitzhak Rabin International School in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
While commissioning the e-learning centre which was named “David Ben Gurion Centre”, Mr. Yotam Kreiman, the Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Israel in Nigeria said the project was designed to encourage the commendable works the school has been doing.
He added that the e-learning centre which is equipped with advanced computers is aimed at encouraging the students to learn, develop, grow, and secure a promising future.
Speaking further, Yotam said “The Yitzhak Rabin International School (YRIS) was founded to make a difference and add value to the African children.
“We are proud to provide opportunities to children and adults through access to the computer lab, and we hope that the conducive environment will further leverage their skills and learning abilities.
In his address, Mr. Yotam Kreiman said, ” Nov 4 is a symbolic day being the 26th annual remembrance of former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin whom even in death commanded tolerance, peace and a stance against violence.
“It is a great honor to commission this classroom and we hope this will encourage innovation and intellectual independence. It is my great honor to represent the State of Israel in the Federal Republic of Nigeria for the benefit and prosperity of both countries.
“I am proud to note with satisfaction the ties that exist between our countries today in the areas of Culture, Arts, Agriculture, Security, Innovation and Education, have continued to grow stronger.
“The State of Israel, popularly referred to as the “Start-up Nation,” is renowned for its vibrant ecosystem of innovation and we are glad to collaborate in knowledge sharing with Nigeria. We trust that the Yitzhak Rabin School will take advantage of the facility to continue the good work of developing the students- the future generation of Nigeria.”
The State of Israel recently marked its 61st anniversary of diplomatic relations and friendship with the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
