Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bamaina in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area of Jigawa have urged Former Governor of the state and Former Foreign Affairs Minister of Nigeria, Sule Lamido to run for president in 2023.
The party members made this known on Tuesday at a mini-rally held in the former governor’s hometown.
Ibrahim Babandi, the Jigawa State PDP Chairman, insisted that Lamido must join the 2023 presidential race. Bashir Jumbo, a former federal lawmaker, also urged him to do same.
Jumbo said Lamido’s accomplishments as a state governor as well as his diplomatic skills has given him an edge over any other candidate running for the presidency.
Lamido, on his part, urged Nigerians to seek divine intervention on their choice of presidential candidates for the 2023 elections.
He said it be would wrong for the people to pick out a particular candidate as the country’s best in 2023.
The Former Governor said that Nigerians must understand that the situation at hand needs divine intervention from God.
He urged them to pray to God to restore Nigeria’s lost glory through his chosen candidate irrespective of tribe, religion or political zone.
