The hope for the better funding for the judiciary under the new zero-budgeting policy may have been shattered with a total of N70bn total allocation for the judiciary under the 2016 Appropriation Bill presented by President Muhammadu Buhari to the National Assembly on Tuesday.
In the 2015 Appropriation Act, the judiciary, through the National Judicial Council, got a total allocation of N73bn.
The 2016 Appropriation Bill indicating that N70bn had been proposed for the judiciary for the coming year was posted on the website of the Budget Office of the Federation on Wednesday.
