The Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM), on Monday, declared Phillip Gwada (PDP) as the winner of the chairmanship election in the Jaba local government area, which took place on Saturday.
The commission’s returning officer, Peter Omale, declared Gwada winner at the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) office in Kwoi.
Omale stated that the winner polled 9,012 votes to defeat APC’s candidate, Benjamin Jock, who polled 5,640 votes.
He further disclosed that Alhamdu Gyet, the Action Democratic Party’s candidate, came third with 2,732 votes.
“Mr Phillip Gwada of the PDP, having satisfied the requirements of the law and having scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared winner of the election and returned elected,’’ he said.
