Kano State government on Monday has ordered the closure of Bagauda Technical College. This was due to the rising cases of insecurity. Commissioner of Education in the state, Malam Muhammad Sanusi Sa’id Kiru announced this on Monday.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry Public Relations Office, Aliyu Yusuf, the shut down of the school is a preventive measure against insecurity in order to protect the lives of teachers and students.
It stated that the Kano government had to make the immediate development as a result of recent disturbing security reports.
The statement, therefore, urged parents to immediately evacuate their children from the premises of the school till further notice.
‘’The Commissioner further used the opportunity to express the state government’s appreciation to parents/guardians for their unflinching support and cooperation on government’s policies and directives, especially on security-related matters,’’ said the statement.
TOS gathered that about 34 boarding school located on the outskirts of the state have been closed before because of security challenges around nearby states.
