Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Leicester City, Kelechi Iheanacho has taken the club to FA-Cup final after 52 years.
The development came after defeating Southampton 1-0 at the front of 4,000 live spectators at the Wembley stadium on Sunday.
In the first half of the game Leicester City created good scoring chances through Vardy. However they failed to register any goal in the first half while Southampton failed to register a single shot on target.
In the second half, there was an effort from Southampton when Kyle Walker won a free kick; the free kick was played by James Ward directly to the head of Jannik Vestergaard, but Jannik was unable to send the ball on target.
However, Leicester did not relent as Vardy on the left passed the ball to Iheanacho who put it on target , but the ball bounced off Jannik ,then Iheanacho made no mistake with the rebound as he sent the ball straight into the net.
The Foxes will face the Blues in the final on May 15th.
Iheanacho was awarded man of the match and he had this to say in an interview “It is a dream come true, Loving it. I am happy. We did it together to get to the final. I watched the FA Cup when I was little and now I get the chance to play in the finals. Such a big dream for me.
“We did it together as a team. I am proud of that. Really happy. We are really happy to have some fans today, it is not easy with everything going on but hopefully in the final, there will be a lot more. I just want to concentrate and keep working hard.
“Of course it is amazing when you count the goals but my focus is to keep working hard.”
