Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has approved the expulsion of fifteen students for examination misconduct and other correlated offences.
The academic board of the institution decided to expel the students after reviewing the report of the Central Examination Misconduct Committee of the institution.
The students were from different departments in both National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) classes.
This was contained in a statement signed by the institution head of Public Relations and Protocol Unit, Mrs Uredo Omale, on Sunday.
The students were found to have contravened relevant sections of the students’ information handbook.
She said there were therefore recommendations by the central examination committee of the institution for disciplinary action as a deterrent measure to others.
“The offences ranged from impersonation, bringing of illicit materials that were relevant to the examination into the examination hall and others,” the statement said.
