Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Lagos branch, has rejoined the ongoing nation wide strike in quest for financial authonomy.
In a press statement issued and made available to TOS News on Friday by the Assistant Secretary of Lagos JUSUN, Adesanya Dare David, the National Body of JUSUN has further directed the Lagos Branch to close all the Courts Gates as the decision to relax the strike can only come from the National Headquarter.
The Judicial staff have earlier announced partial resumption. According to the chairman, Asiwaju Shobowale, the partial resumption was based on a meeting with stakeholders during which 70% of their demands were met.
The statement read:”Sequel to the Circular dated 28th April, 2021 by the National Body of JUSUN regarding the partial opening of Courts Gates in Lagos State.
“It would be recalled, that the Lagos State Branch took the decision of relaxing the ongoing strike action based on the Congress held at Ikeja High Court on Wednesday 21st April, 2021.
“Consequently, the National Body of JUSUN has further directed the Lagos Branch to close all the Courts Gates as the decision to relax the strike can only come from the National Headquarter.
“In view of the above, Members of Staff are enjoined to stay at home until further directive by the National Body of JUSUN.”
