The Federal Ministry of Works and Housing is set to open the bid for Value Added Concession of federal roads under the Highway Development and Management Initiative on Tuesday.
The ministry made this known on Sunday as it said the bid would be witnessed by the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission and other interested partners and stakeholders.
The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, had officially inaugurated the e-portal of the Outline Business Case for the HDMI after he received the Certificate of Compliance for the Outline Business Case for the HDMI in December 2020.
The 12 roads that are up for concession under the first phase of the HDMI include Abuja-Lokoja, Benin-Asaba, Kaduna-Kano, Shagamu-Benin, Onitsha-Owerri-Aba, and Abuja-Keffi-Akwanga federal highways.
Others are: Lagos-Badagry, Lokoja-Benin, Ilorin-Jebba, Enugu-Port Harcourt, Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta, and Kano-Shuari-PortisKum-Damaturu roads.
The Federal Ministry of Works and Housing developed the Highway Development and Management Initiative to develop and manage the federal road network.
