The Governing Board of the National Examinations Council (NECO) has approved the appointment of Mr. Ebikibina John Ogborodi as the Acting Registrar/Chief Executive of the Council.
This was contained in a circular issued by the Director, Human Resource Management, Mr. Mustapha K. Abdul.
According to the circular, the appointment was made by the governing board during its emergency meeting held on Wednesday, June 2.
The circular explained that the board appointed Mr. Ogborodi as the acting registrar because he is the most Senior Director in the council.
Until this appointment, Mr. Ogborodi was the Director of Special Duties in the Council. The Circular also stated that all activities of the Council are to continue unabated.
Mr. Ogborodi is from Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State; he bagged his first degree from the University of Jos in 1986 and a Master’s Degree in Learning Disability from the same university in 1999. He joined the service of NECO in 1999 and had served in different capacities.
His appointment follows the death of the Registrar, Professor Godswill Obioma on Monday, June 1, after a brief illness.
